CreditAccess India (“CAI”) is the majority owner of CreditAccess Grameen (“CAGr”), a publicly-listed, NBFC-MFI based in India. CAGr provides small loans to women in rural areas through the joint-liability group model, where groups of women guarantee each other’s loans. Operating in 16 states, CAGr is India’s largest NBFC-MFI, with 5mn borrowers.
